I'm Joel, and I play bass, sing and write songs. I've been in a bunch of bands.
The first was The Mr. T Experience (1994 - 2000). I joined when I was 17 and did a lot of touring and made a lot of records over the next 5+ years.
Next was "my" band, The Plus Ones (1999 - 2007). I more-or-less wrote and sang all the songs; we made three records and also did quite a bit of touring. We pretty much just broke up last month.
I'm also a member of re-united '77 San Francisco punk outfit The Avengers . We play every now and again.
I now play lead guitar in the otherwise-all-gay SF rock band Pansy Division . We only do a few shows a year, mostly festivals, but we are working on a new full-length album.
I also play bass with El Vez, the Mexican Elvis , which is a lot of fun.
There have been more than a few others over the years, but those are the big ones.
Until just recently I'd lived in California my entire life, but as of this moment I am a brand-new resident of the East Coast.
