In the beginning, the buzz surrounding the heavy rocking and intimidating band was intense. After performing only a handful of live shows, local promoters began contacting SERENE SCREAM in hopes of booking the band. They were a solid fit to open for national rock/punk acts and the certain advent of their growing fan base encouraged promoters to book the band to headline local shows. Ticket and beer sales motivated club owners to compete for performance contracts; SERENE SCREAMs fans guaranteed production and overhead costs.
The band was hesitant to commit to the advances of entertainment managers, promoters and labels. According to singer/guitarist Jimmy Trent, we had some growing up to do. In reality, the young band was not ready for the unexpected and overwhelming demand. In addition, the boys were battling their own demons and seemed to be gluttons for punishment. Like many in rock n roll, they too have traveled the road from self-destruction to self-deliverance.
Since reuniting in 2004 the guys of SERENE SCREAM have fine tuned their live hour and a half train wreck(fondly and poignantly termed by journalist Shannon Stanfield) and recorded several CD's.
