About Rachel Farley
2008 NACMAI MOST PROMISING FEMALE VOCALIST OF THE YEAR, 2008 NACMAI RISING STAR AWARD FEMALE ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR, 2008 NACMAI TRADITIONAL COUNTRY SONGWRITER OF THE YEAR "LONELY ALONE", 2008 NACMAI NEW COUNTRY SONGWRITER OF THE YEAR "TENNESSEE" AND 2008 NACMAI CD OF THE YEAR
Rachel Farley practically came into the world singing. Her first solo performance was at 5 years of age, for a crowd of approximately 1000 people of whom she wowed with her rendition of the National Anthem. From that point on, Rachel knew that she wanted to perform. Since then, she has not stopped. She had a video that was chosen in the CMT top 64 for their Music City Madness contest. The video was on the show in December 2007. In July 2008 her video for her original song "Tennessee" was selected to be on GAC's Next Big Star.
Rachel not only sings, she also plays guitar and writes songs with a depth well beyond her young years. You can find her songs here and also on YouTube. Some of her original songs include, Tennessee, Empty Bottle Empty Heart, Her Everything, Driving and Dreaming, Are You in Love. She has co-written “Lonely Alone†(Chris Floyd, Ronny Criss, Larissa Farley), “My Love†(Jacob Bryant), and “Taking Turns†(Freddy Dollar). Rachel's songs come from her real life experiences and things that she witnesses from the lives of others. Her ability for empathy gives her an amazing depth to many of her songs. Rachel’s philosophy is simple, “I can’t sing about it from the heart, if I haven’t lived it or experienced it. Talent and experience being two things Rachel has in abundance.
She is the 2007 GCGMA Songwriter of the Year, Entertainer of the Year, CD of the year and Most Promising Vocalist of the Year. Since October of 2007 Rachel has played 80+ shows. She has performed at venues in Nashville Tennessee including, Tootsies, Hall of Fame Lounge, Mercy Lounge, FUEL, and Cadillac Ranch. You can find her all around Georgia as well playing out most weekends. One of her favorite Atlanta venues to play is the “Swallow at the Hollowâ€.
Rachel lucked out earlier this year and met up with Grammy nominated producer/songwriter, Jayne Olderman and has been working with her and has plans to continue co writing songs with Jayne. Keep an eye out for Rachel to become a real Nashville player. She is playing there frequently and loving it!
When she is not singing country music, you can find Rachel on a few Atlanta Professional Theatre stages. In 2007 she played Robin in Godspell, Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, Eller in Iron Moon, an ensemble role in Atlanta Lyric Theatre's Evita and Rachel also played the role of the Bard in "A Child's Christmas in Wales" during the 2007 holiday season.
