Herman K

Herman K was born not far from the heart of the Big Apple, New York City, where he gained his early musical influences.
Rock, heavy metal, heavier metal - loudness - guitars - walls of sound so sweet. Progresive tendencies led to playing with a host of local bands in New York, and then in northern California.
After doing hard time in the school of hard rocks, Herman K found himself in a music conservatory in the midwest US, where he studied percussion and electronic music composition. He became very involved with the dance department and did both live and recorded music for a number of dance/music collaborations. During that time, Herman K also continued playing with local bands doing a variety of rock, world beat and jazz covers and originals, recording and performing throughout the midwest US.
Herman K also explored various world hand drumming styles, particularly conga and djembe, playing Salsa and other Caribbean and West African styles.Herman K went back to New York, playing drums for such great dance studios as Alvin Ailey and the Martha Graham school in New York City. Herman is probably the only person to ever play drums at the Graham school which always uses piano. Herman continued to play and began writing music as he moved back across the Midwest US to Los Angeles where he currently resides, writing, recording and producing music, teaching drums, playing drums, and practicing law. Yes, Herman K is also a lawyer licensed in California, New York and Georgia, doing among other things, entertainment and music business law!
