It Is What It Is

About Me

In a day and age in which rap has shape shifted its form...There is one question that is to be asked...IS THERE ANY MORE ROOM FOR REAL EMCEES?......snap, crackle and pop music has taken a new form and has brought hip-hop to the brink of disaster. With everyone fighting for supremacy for ring tones, album sales diminishing and new rappers claiming some gang or another, it’s plain to see why rap is fading into obscurity. When you think of Yonkers, New York, no one can even imagine what happens there but it has been the home of some of music's brightest stars (past and present), Professional Athletes and Actors- the likes of Mary J. Blige, Jadakiss, DMX, Sheek Louch, Styles P, James Blake, Ella Fitzgerald, Steven Tyler...just to name a few..... Some argue that Yonkers has suffered from many challenges that hinder many positive social changes; but some people are trying to break out of that norm. With a mix of different cultures and prides there is no wonder why there is someone that is trying to bust into the music scene and take Yonkers to new heights...to the days when Yonkers held New York down with hits like Ruff Ryder’s Anthem and Real Love and Albums such as What’s the 411? And Get a Grip.....Music is about to take a new turn. Yonkers Native Chins is trying to do so... Born in Nigeria, music has always been a bright spot in this young man's life....when his parents moved to the birth place of hip hop (The Bronx)...rap music was manifested in his life. As he grew up in the Golden Age of Hip Hop Chins had no plans of rapping...he always thought of it as something great to listen to but it was the day in which his cousins from Brooklyn introduced him to Big Daddy Kane, he knew what he wanted to do in life, and that was to make music. When Chins moved to Yonkers with his family...he was introduced to the some neighborhood kids on the come up called the LOX and he watched them bring Yonkers to the spot light along with DMX and the Ruff Ryder’s. All throughout his adolescent years and adulthood, he crafted his game from the influences of the past and present and is well ahead of his peers. He is growing a little buzz on the streets but he is hungry for more and wants new challenges......Now.....is there room for some real emcee's...only time will tell.
