We are the dancegroup Avensis. We are 8 girls in the age 18-19 and we have danced together since 2003. The vision for us is by keeping a high artistic level and protect the fellowship, develop as dancers and people. We attach a great importance to the dance's ability to communicate, influence, touch, express and create understanding where before there was fear and prejudices.
During these years we have put up the danceperformances "Whole again", "Doubt...Faith...Trust", "Focus" and "On the way". We have danced at several festivals and places in Sweden and last December we were in China. This December we are going to Cambodia.
Avensis are mainly dancing streetdance but also jazz and contemporary.
We dance as a worship and thanksgiving to God. At the same time our dance works as a doubt and confrontation with the faith and different situations in life.

Helena is born and raised in Malmö, has lived a couple of years in China and worked at the culture center NORDICA and as a dance and music teacher. Her passion is dance and music and she is now studying to become a rhythmic educationalist at the Music school of education in Malmö. At the same time she is finishing a master's degree in Chinese at the University of Lund and works as a dance teacher. Helena has been the leader and the choreographer of Avensis since the beginning in 2003.
Annika is studying her third year at Heleneholm's upper secondary school. At her spare time she plays the piano and trains tennis with her dad. Otherwise she works as a tennis coach for children between 4 and 10 at MBTK and as a dance teacher at Mariaskolan. She also likes to listen to music and hang out with friends and her family.
Mia is an active girl who is studying economics at Borgar upper secondayr school. At her spare time she rides and dance.
Hanna's life consists mainly of dance, friends and school. Her schedule is often larded and because of that she doesn't have time to do all the things she want to do. Hanna likes to be with people and doesn't like to be alone too long. She is usually happy and likes to make people
laugh.
Sara lives in Trelleborg and studys music at Heleneholm's upper secondary school. At her spare time she likes to sing, dance, read and be with friends. She has danced with Avensis since the beginning in 2003.
Annasara lives in Malmö and studys esthetic musicaltheatre at Heleneholm. She loves to be on stage and specially in musicals. She has taken part in "Evita", "Oliver!" and "La cage aux folles". She spends her spare time with friends at coffee houses, dances or watch soccer. Annasara has been a member of Avensis since the beginning and her best memory with them is from Frizon 2006.
Elisabeth went to Heleneholm's upper secondary school where she studied natural science with musical alignment. she loves to dance and she has done that for nearly 7 years. Street is her favourite but she wishes to develop more within jazz in the future. Chinese dance is not wrong either though it can be a little tricky.
Mirjam (Mimmi) studys natural science at Heleneholm's upper secondary school. Something she enjoys very much even if she sometimes can't deny that she wished she studied dance. She likes to try different dance stiles, she likes many of them but street is her favourite. When Mirjam doesn't dance she likes to be with her friends, do sport, be outside (at least during summer) and be with Jesus!
