About Me

KATHLEEN MONAHAN...As director of promotion and marketing, Kathleen's career in the record business began in 1975 with the Wherehouse Records chain in Sacramento. Working her way through retail management she detoured to Cleveland, managing in the Record Theater chain.Relocating to Seattle in 1978 Kathleen continued her music career at MCA Records. Next, working with such labels as Motown, Chrysalis, Arista and others, through distribution companies, Kathleen worked in promotion, marketing, sales and advertising.Tapped in 1992 as Director of Media Promotion (audio/video) for the Miramar Recording Company, Kathleen directed and executed all marketing. In 1994 she became part owner of an independent jazz record label gaining more insight and experience into the challenges involved with promoting and marketing from the label side of the business.KDM Promotion was founded in 1996 out of a strong desire and commitment to the music and the opportunity to apply industry knowledge and relationship with her own independent promotion company. KDM focuses on Adult Eclectic, World, Ambient, Acoustic, Celtic, and Native American music.
