The issue of money is always a fair consideration. Why would a company with a perfectly good shower want to spend even more money to ensure their employee’s comfort? The way they see it, the cyclist should be content that he/she even has a shower to begin with. Another problem is the feasibility of the idea. Is it possible to knock one cubicle wall down? The shower we are looking at is actually walled and not the type of walls cubicles that come off easily. Having said that, it would be too much of an effort expend for such a particular type of user. Granted, cyclists aren’t the only ones to use them, people who run or do various other sports would also do it, but it still is an unacceptable percentage to warrant such an effort. The third problem is the potential neglecting or delaying of official work duties. If the showers are really converted into a full fledged bathroom, the cyclists will want to stay in the bathroom for a longer period of time, thus leading to less time spent on work. Also, if word gets around that this particular floor has marvelous bathroom facilities, more and more people, possibly from different floors and companies will want to use them.
