As a community leader, counselor, and preacher, 31 year old Jenkins is respected and revered for his innovative thinking, age old wisdom, contemporary leadership, and business savvy. As pastor of the historic Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, Jenkins has enormously increased revenues, implemented cutting edge programs, broadened real estate holdings, and created an empowering environment for youth, while impacting nations for the Kingdom of God. As a result of his unwavering commitment to adding value to others, over 6000 new parishioners have united with Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church with Jenkins at the helm.Born in 1975 in St. Petersburg, Florida, Jenkins draws upon his own childhood to relate to his constituency. After the loss of his father at the age of nine, he found himself being raised in a single-family environment, which exposed him to similar perils facing the youth of today. In high school, Jenkins soon discovered he enjoyed being popular more than he enjoyed being a student and soon learned the price of popularity could potentially jeopardize his ability to graduate on time. Nevertheless his mother, who is an educator, was determined to see him graduate on time, consequently forcing him to attend additional classes in the evenings as well as during the summer. In his freshman year of college, Jenkins’ natural leadership abilities were highly visible. He was elected President of the Freshman Class and later became President of the National Advancement Association for Colored People (college chapter), as well as Presidential Ambassador (student representative for the President at select functions).While Jenkins does not have an official political platform, he is widely received in the political arena. Jenkins has had a number of notable speaking engagements including the pre-inaugural celebration for Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich where he gave the pre-inaugural charge to Attorney General Lisa Madigan. While celebrated domestically, Jenkins is embraced internationally. He is welcomed by religious and civic leaders on many continents and has been the keynote speaker in countries around the world. In addition, Jenkins sits on a number of civic, social, educational, and religious Boards providing wisdom where needed.A man of balance, Jenkins is a devoted husband, model father, and stellar student. He is the husband of Mrs. Tara Rawls-Jenkins and the father of two young daughters, Princess and Paris.Jenkins is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute earning a Bachelors of Science degree in Christian Education and is currently completing a Masters Degree at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Jenkins is poised to begin doctoral curriculum in the winter of 2008.Pastor Charles Jenkins is a man that brings people together to ensure mobility and momentum for individuals, communities, and organizations. Pastor Jenkins is truly the yardstick for his generation.
