The Chicken Tractor emerges out of the hills and small towns of Penns Valley, the geographic center of Pennsylvania, to put their queer shoulder to the gilded wheel of 21st Century End Time.

We draw our roots from old 78 rpm records, rural church music, mountain murder ballads, classic country and honky tonk, sheer fuck-all, string band and old time music, all run through the cosmic filter of Dr. Humphrey Bates and his Possum Hunters, Lily Mae Ledford, Gram Parsons, Sarah, A.P. and Mother Maybelle, George Jones, All-Girl Roller Derby, the Louvin Brothers, Blind Willie Johnson, Walt Whitman, Carl Smith, Owl Bowel, Motorhead, Wade Ward, the Wringers, Eugene Chadbourne, Daniel A.I.U.
