I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

My name is Somebody. I am just over 8 years old. I was rescued from the Palm Beach County, FL animal shelter by my current human, Tracy, a little over 6-1/2 years ago. When I first saw Tracy I didn't know what to think. He was WEIRD! I was in the 1st row of kennels; 3rd one down; on the left. When Tracy came to the front of my cage he looked at the tag on the door which read 'Labrador mix - female' and said, "A female Labrador mutt is just what I came here for. Come here, sweety. Let me get a look at you." Not a chance, I thought. I'd been screwed over sooo many times lately... I mean he looked nice and sounded like a genuinely sweet guy, but so did all the other humans that had turned on me. He tried everything. He tried baby talk. He tried being playful. I wasn't budging. I remained pressed against the back of my cell; tail wagging; eyes alert. I was trying to tell him that it was nothing personal and, in fact, that I thought he seemed quite nice, but I'm sorry - no. Then he did something I've never seen another human do before or since. To my utter shock and amazement Tracy spoke to me in fluent canine. Without warning he dropped to the concrete floor outside my cel and rolled onto his back. He stuck his arms and legs straight into the air and looked at me passively as he said in human, "Look. I pose no threat to you." I shook my head in disbelief and without any further hesitation I leaped up and RAN the 2-1/2 strides to the front of my cel and begged him to take me home with him! He reached through the chain link and touched me as I licked his fingers and tried to look my very best. He decided to look at the rest of the dogs and wrote down the number on the front of my cell. As he walked out of sight down past all the other cells; looking at the other dogs I heard him stop and speak to a few, and I began to worry. He was so far down that I could barely hear his footsteps. When he reached the end he crossed to the other side where I could see him again. As he began back along the opposing row of cells I saw him look up in my direction. We made eye contact, and that's when he knew. From 100 feet away we saw something in each other's eye that meant we could trust one another. He gave up the looking at the other dogs, and rushed to adopt me before anyone else that may have noticed me might beat him to it. I went home with him a short while later.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Other dogs in my area for phun and adventure! Gender, breed, color, size not important. I can play with the big dogs as rough as you think you can handle, and I also know how to contain myself in the presence of small, frail dogs like teacup chihuahuas. The only dogs I don't care to meet are mean dogs that I might have to open up a can of whoop-ass on and disobedient dogs who might be a bad influence on me - unless of course they are puppies, then I can help train them. I can set a great example! I must say that I especially like chillin with younger dogs, because like my owner I can release my inner child effortlessly. I'm all about having a good time, and I've got no time for drama or bad vibes. Life is short... divided by 7, right? Humans: I love human friends, but seriously speaking - only in person. If I don't know you offline then please don't request to be my friend. That's just SILLY! Every human you find in my friends list is someone I know personally, ie: I know what they smell like. If you want to communicate with my human - that's great! He's a friendly guy. Just go to his page and do it there, please. Thank you.
