arresting stage presence is what fascinates the audience.Graduated with full honours in “ G. Verdi “ Conservatory in Milan ( Italy, where Aglaia was born and spent most of her life ) studying with V. Balzani , she finished her studies in London ( where she’s still living ) in the prestigious “Royal Academy of Music†postgraduates with C. Benson and Ian Brown.Winner of several prizes of National and International competition since the age of ten, before leaving Italy for England, the Conservatory of Milan give a prize to Aglaia as best piano accompanist of the year ( 1998 ) as in the Royal Academy of Music she has recently been awarded with “M.A.Garrett†prize.Fascinated in chamber-music from a young age, Aglaia grows up, studying so much repertoire that she could be now compared to an older musician in experience.She has been engaged for most of the important concert associations and festivals. In Italy especially in Milan, her city, Aglaia performed in Verdi Hall, Auditorium, Teatro delle Erbe to mention some, for Serate Musicali, Società dei Concerti, Amici del Loggione, Umanitaria, Rotary Club Teatro alla Scala, one of the most important concert association in Italy.
At the age of eighteen she received an invitation from Kyoto ( Japan ) to perform for a chamber-music festival playing in duo with the russian pianist Anastassia Ivanova and the italian soprano Alessandra Molinari.M. Abbado invited her for three years to participate to the “Valasassina Music Festival†in Barzio (Italy) a special chamber-music festival organized by the Lions Club Verdi Association.
In 2000 Aglaia’s been invited to play with the “Verdi†string quartet all the Mendelssohn piano quartet for the “San Giminiano Chamber Music Festivalâ€.Since 2002 in duo with the cellist Diletta D’Amico and after studing in the famous international chamber music academy “Trio di Trieste†with D. de Rosa, R. Zanettovich, M. Jones and E. Bronzi, they’ve been engaged in all over Italy for numerous concerts.In 2006 the english artist James Peel chooses Aglaia to perform in Basel ( Switzerland ) some contemporary variation for piano solo of “Over the Rainbow†during his own art exibition with enormous success from the press.
Different concerts all over the world, Egypt, Hungary, Switzerland, France, Austria, Ireland, etc..Since 2006 is playing in duo with the flutist Unji Chung performing in London, Bristol, Windsor and many others.As piano soloist Aglaia played with “G. Verdi†Symphony Orchestra ( cond. R. Polanstri ), “G.B.Sammartini†Orchestra ( cond. F.Borali ) and “Piccola Sinfonica†di Milano ( cond. S.M.Lucarelli), performing, with the last, a “..fizzy but intense..†Beethoven 1st piano Concerto op. 15.In Addition to the standard chamber, concerto and solo repertoire, she has performed many of the works she has commissioned or premiered.
