R.L Sounds was founded 24th August 2006 in Nairobi Kenyan when King Rebel (selector) when out of Boogie down sounds of High Priest Shabba. It was more a coincidence than anything else since the sound were a huge success.He started selecting on his own playing a few school in Central Province of Kenya. Dj samo (MC) (founder of New Wave Rock Sound) joined the sound in 2007 and after a brief period the two became a well known tag team travelling all over the central of kenya. The sound series was established by now and Rebel sound will became a household name among the Big Sound of kenya in 2 years coming from now.
Now that the sound was travelling a lot it was even easier for the fans to put a face to the music they were listening all the time.
R L Sounds reputation grew steadily over the years and they are rated among kenya underground and new upcoming soundsystems spreading a positive and energetic vibe.
R.L.Sounds is here to please the people, that is for sure. They play all kind of styles dealing with Caribbean music, from ska to roots, from lovers to dancehall and even soca. It is their aim to show the entity and depth, not only certain periods or extracts. Whenever you come to a Rebel sounds dance satisfaction is guaranteed.
