About Me

I've had a vary interesting journey with music in my life time. I Guess it started playing Chop Sticks on a piano with real chop sticks. (I've still got the piano with the destroyed keys to prove it) Music was always something that captured my attention. As a kid my mother played great records from the Beatles, Led Zeppelin etc. (I've still got those to prove it too :-) We had a piano in my house that i loved to beat on (literally see chop stick story above) the first song i ever learned to play was the Beatles "let it be". soon after i picked up the guitar and that was it I was hooked. When i turned 17 i found something new in music to explore, recording. i recorded an album with a friend of mine at a real studio. It wasn't very good but i saw all the creative possibilities you could explore with a recording studio. It would change the direction of my life to where I am heading today. I've been recording ever sense.Currently I am a freelance engineer and producer. Although i mainly record in bigger studios i do have my own small project studio that i use for overdubs, mixing and song writing.Another project that I am involved with is the experimental recording system, the isomike (www.isomike.com) Its the product of audio brain Ray Kimber (www.kimber.com) using spaced omni mics with a baffle between them recorded direct to DSD, it creates the most accurate recording possible. Its so amazing you need to hear it for yourself, there is no way i could do it justice with words.Projects using isomike technologyFry Street Quartet www.frystreetquartet.comT-minus 5 www.Tminus5.com (Purity)Over the years I've had the chance to work with some fantastic musicians and engineers. each time I've made an effort to learn something new from each one of them. Some of my favorites: Kenji Aihara, Sam Potter, Ryan Shupe and the Rubber Band, Traktor for Hire, Michael Greene, Ryan Boud, Dirk Woodruff, Ray Kimber, Graemme Brown, Fry Street Quartet, Phil Stokes, Wood Carver... All of them have influenced me immensely in my work.
