About Me

“These lads are well-dressed wild boys!” – The Horn Reborn, St Albans
"So it is true... punk is not dead" - Bullet Bar, Camden
You Me Them Us! are difficult to define and with influences ranging from The Smiths to Lionel Richie... its easy to see why. Coming from the “semi respectable” town of Watford this indie/punk/electro/rock 5 piece are beginning to cause a stir with their energetic live shows and genre spanning tunes
History of the band
Originally created as a four piece for a bit of a laugh in late 2005 under the name ‘The Polar Bears’ they had one simple goal… to beat a Backstreet Boys tribute act in a school talent show. Formed three days before the show Dan Creasey and original drummer Phil Raymond recruited Carl Wimhurst and Michael Fensom to perform a cover of The Futureheads ‘Decent Days and Nights’. The band went down a storm on the night and decided to stick around.
After a change of line up bringing in Lee Blowers on drums the band reformed under the name The Nineteen20’s and were booked to play a set of covers in Islington, North London. Following this first gig original songs were written and the covers were slowly replaced as the band played uptempo gigs (to mostly tiny crowds) in the Hertfordshire and North London area at club nights, pubs, live music events and basically for anybody who would book them.
Following the departure of Phil Raymond in late 2006 Daniel Holden came in on bass from local electro outfit The Molten Imagination and the band continued to write new songs and build a local fan base supporting bands like Polytechnic, The Mourning After and My Passion, culminating in two packed headline slots at ‘Baraka Plugged’ Indie club night in Watford with support from The Displacements.
Recordings
Having had several unsuccessful attempts at recording due to a lack of studio time, equipment failures or someone pulling the plug before it had been saved… in July 2007 after a second name change to You Me Them Us! (due to similar sounding names with the Nineteen20's) the band recorded their first demo Hands Up! at a studio just outside Luton. The instrumental tracks for the demo were recorded live and the vocals layered over the top to give a more raw, honest and edgy sound.
Currently, You Me Them Us! are looking to spread their unique brand of indie/electro scamp rock outside of the local area and are taking any opportunities that come their way to gig across the UK.
