Jim Rykbost

My Name is Jim Rykbost, Keyboardist/songwriter from Columbia, South Carolina. I'm 37 years old, and grew up as a teen in the early 80's. The 80's Pop/Rock is the music that has had the biggest influence on my musical career so far. I've played entirely by ear since the age of three, and from the time I was 15, I've been in and out of bands ranging from several garage Rock bands, to Country bands, to a Church band (At two different campuses) to "Frontiers"-a Journey Tribute band with Jeremey Hunsicker. I've written dozens of songs, ranging from musicical styles like Jonathan Cain/Jim Brickman piano songs, to some of the harder "Synth rock" with a definite Journey or Survivor feel. I am currently working on my new recording project with an amazingly gifted singer from Italy. His name is Alex Mark Scott, and he will be singing all of the lead vocals for our project. This project started out over a year ago as my solo project, but has since turned into a joint venture with Alex also contributing to the songwriting process. We seem to gel great as a team and you'll be hearing several new songs from us soon! We have recently added two of the best musicians out there to the band... Ruben L. W. Bellucca is joining us as an extremely talented bass player, and Federico Paulovich is going to bring our playing to the next level on drums! They're both from Italy also, so this will make the recording easier with them being right there with Alex. We plan to finish writing this album in the next two months, then it's off to the record companies...wish us luck on our journey, and I hope you enjoy what you hear. We have officially named the band "Cold Heart", and will be working with one of the best artists in the business to do an album cover for us.
