globalization is ruining my social life

About Me

My haiku:

After a long day

Slinging land plans for a buck

Bring me my forty

I sing along to Stereolab songs (even though I don't know any French), I kiss my dog on the nose, and I pitch for my company softball team. Yes, I'm hardcore.

My Interests

In general: postmodern urban theory; cheese. Lately: photography of the built environment; inquiring after my friends with lives of leisure; sneaking reading time at work while photoshop is "saving"; picking at the little knots of hair on my dog's legs until she gets annoyed at me; eating lunch at IKEA ($2.13, seriously); cooking southern-style vegetarian; reasons to drive to LA, good or otherwise; celebrating the retreat of the ants from my kitchen; riding my bike to Trader Joe's; that little mirror I installed on my left handlebar; reading all of the urban planning books I never had time for in grad school; reading outside at the Orange Plaza; wearing loud, feminine shoes; new social environments; non-oily moisturizers; aerobics at the Orange Senior Center; existential crises; absurdity; teaching myself AutoCAD and finding ways to integrate the color [teal blue] into my daily experience.

I'd like to meet:

"Some situations seek redressing, some songs just go 'testing, testing.'"
