The Douglas Singers, The Douglas Singers have been described as one of the most promising female quartet groups of our time their voices transcend the limits of genre, and their passionate vocal techniques turns any song to a masterful composition. Anyone that have seen this groups perform, knows that they have strong convictions about the gospel message they sing about. Their songs are merely the work ethic of the late beloved, Rev. Nathanial Douglas, Sr. who was the manager of The Douglas Singers before his transition to glory, continuing the legacy that Rev. Douglas left, Dea. Bobby Scott took on the responsibility of managing this dynamic group as well as the Heavenly King Juniors and the Lord has taken them to higher heights and deeper depths in HIM through Dea. Scotts Leadership. They produced their first album in 1977, and after a long hiatus the group released their first cd in July of 2002. In 2004 they released a single entitled “stumbling and falling†and in 2006 God bless them to release their first live cd and dvd compilation entitled “no time to fool around†With God’s favor being upon these young ladies, they are well known throughout the Chicago land area as well as all across the United Stated. They have shared the stage with such gospel greats as, The Queen of Gospel, Albertina Walker, Mr. Willie Wilson, Pastor Donnie Mcclurkin, R. Kelley, Doc Mc Kenzie and the Hi Lites, The Gospel Four, The Canton Spirituals, The Jackson Southernaires, Evelyn Turrentine Agee and the Warriors, The Bolton Brothers, Lee Williams and the Spiritual QC's Evang. Dorinda Clark Cole, Ambassador, Dr. Bobby Jones, Chicago's own Mixon Singers, The Inspirational Souls, The Victory Travelers and Pastor Mack Mccullum, just to name a few. They have opened for the grand opening of Kmart stores, The Chicago Public School System, as well as Suburban Schools, Expo's, Conferences, The Chicago Gospel Fest, Singsation, The Chicago Quartet Convention, The American Quartet Convention, The Bobby Jones Gospel Retreat and many other places throughout the Chicago land area as well as abroad. They are all members of the New Greater True Light MBC in Chicago IL, where their pastor is Robert L. Lockett. They faithfully serves in every capacity of their ministry, attending services regularly, teaching Sunday school and bible class as well as singing in the choir and playing the instruments. In order to minister the word in song you must apply the word to your daily life. The Lord has truly blessed The Douglas Singers. They know that while on this journey they will stumble and fall but as long as they give God a place in their heart Jesus will be there all the time and he'll make every thing alright.
