My great-grand-father, on my father side, created a product that is still in every family in Belgium: the Sirop de Liege. Made with Apple and Pears, or Apricot.
On my mother side, italian immigrants in Belgium, my ingenious grand-father put together a fridge on a truck, providing one of the first local refrigerated transport...Which led to a succesfull, still running too, ice cream business.
And you wonder if I got a sweet tooth?
I started making chocolates here, in New York City, after years of not having anything decent to my taste. One day I went to a good market, bought the best bars I could find, make it into a luscious ganache, that made my friends say hmmmmmmmmm...An idea was born, an adventure started. I will make these delicious chocolates myself, and bring a new taste of the old world.
