Dear wanderer within this realm,
seldomly - or never so far - I've experienced a poem written in honour of a band's spirit and dedication. What you can read above is the most unique try, and probably the most exact one, of a description what RIMMERSGARD may mean to certain characters in today's world being so far away from our roots. What does a band express that inspires its listeners to such a poem? I can't answer and I'm not the person to judge - it's not unlikely that there is no person to judge how near to the human idol, how deep into the core of ancient wisdom the art of RIMMERSGARD may reach. Art judges itself by the importance it develops for its creator and - even more - defines itself through the timeless truths lying herein. After all it can only be a higher energy that is authorized to assess how far an artist has reached.
In a time of decadence and still unresting technical development, of creatures permanently having closed their eyes, of wide-spread mental daze in front of reality and general un-wisdom RIMMERSGARD represents one of the last fortresses in a struggle for natural origin and faith. A metaphorical isle deeply hidden in the Ore Mountains, a place where the exhausted sensitive may rest, a well of medial energy. One of the artists' characteristics is: he doesn't know about his relevance, though he's sure about his fateful task.
Please respect what stands behind RIMMERSGARD as it's one of the powers that holds our kind together. Listen and see, you'll notice if you belong to this our kind or not.

Founded 1995 in Mildenau by Cruinh, Asmon, Gilbert and Ronny. Soon we moved to our rehearsal room, where we recorded the Songs for our first Demo (Demo 1 ´97). But even before that Gilbert moved away. Later, Spring 1998, the Demo was released after some months lying around in the wardrobe at home. "Sombre Rec." did the release back then. One of the two guys of Sombre was friend to us for years. But he was not a very comfortable mate, so we and his partner as well got into dispute with him. The other one then founded "Miriquidi Prod." and the tape was distributed there. After the release Ronny left RIMMERSGARD, he intended to play more straight Power Metal. He wasn´t so much into the Folk thing as the other two. Ronny and Asmon formed with others the Speed Power Metal outfit "Testimony". Now sharing the rehearsal room was not easy at all. Their bass player Franc then played the guitar and with him new songs were written. He stayed from May till Octobre 1998. Then he concentrated more to his own band. Aluco instantly took over the guitar part. With him the songs were started over again. Late 1999 we lost the rehearsal room which was in the house of Asmons and Gilberts parents. "ErzHerz" was recorded in "Erzzwergs Lair", the somewhat improvised home studio of Briantanus of "FABULA" (back then "FABULA AETATIS"). With him we played sessions and were friends since 1996. He also had a short guest role on Demo 1 blowing the horn. "ErzHerz" was released late 2001. Alboin (GEIST, former ENID) was supporting us intensively in several ways. Asmon then concentrated to his colaboration with FABULA AETATIS, later FABULA. In early 2005 Agarwaen joined on guitar. A planned re-release of Demo 1 through "Elven Witchcraft" (Lv) never bore fruit. Sometime someone got the idea to re-release Demo 1 on Vinyl. In order to record a bonus song, summer 2005 we went to a studio in Annaberg and recorded it. Now for the first time with bass guitar. But mixing the one song got a problem. Its not finished yet. Hopefully we´ll find someone nearby who is able to satisfyingly mix the song. Then the Vinyl re-release of the Demo will get going.
