Personality type: INFJ (the counselor idealist)
Mystic, Protector, Writer
http://www.infj.org/public/infjcharacter.html
http://www.uta.fi/~kt22588/profile/profile.htm
INFJs value their integrity a great deal. INFJs are characterized by their strong sense of values,
of right and wrong. They have high expectations of themselves and need to live their lives in
accordance with what they feel is right. They do this through total trust of their intuition. INFJs
are proud of their authenticity, respectful of their benevolence, confident of their empathy.
Accurately suspicious about others' motives, INFJs are not easily led. These are the people that you can rarely fool any of the time. Characteristically, INFJs have strong empathic abilities and can be aware of another's emotions or intents even before that person is conscious of these. What is known as ESP is likely found in an INFJ more than in any other types, although other types are capable of such phenomena. This capability extends to people, things, and often events, taking the form of visions, episodes of foreknowledge, premonitions, auditory and visual images of things to come. INFJs can have uncanny communications with certain individuals at a distance.
The small number of this type (1 percent) is regrettable, since INFJs have an unusually strong drive
to contribute to the welfare of others and genuinely enjoy helping their fellow men. This type has
great depth of personality; they are themselves complicated, and can understand and deal with
complex issues and people. They are generally "doers" as well as great dreamers. This rare
combination of vision and practicality often results in INFJs taking a disproportionate amount of
responsibility in the various causes to which so many of them seem to be drawn. They are activists
there for the cause, not for the power, and put a lot of energy into identifying the best system for
getting things done.
"I once told my
enneagram study group that I felt like a spider
inside her web. Even when I retreat, I can feel the threads that
connect me to other people vibrating. That makes it difficult
to relax sometimes."
- Catharine M., INFJ-List
"People find out about cats in this order:
Cats have sharp claws, purr, and are inexplicable.
Whereas they find out about INFJs in this order:
INFJs are inexplicable, purr, and have sharp claws."
- Kenneth F., INFJ-List

Where I come from:
I grew up in North
Salem, NY , and still consider myself a *dyed in the wool* New Yorker. North
Salem was, and still is a small town, which once held more cows than people. I
grew up with half a mountainside as my playground - and a rock dolmen (the
balanced rock) stills rests at the foot of the mountain. I knew I was different
very early on, and I began having visions when I was 3 years old; they came on
so suddenly and totally that all my senses were lost and I would fall. I'm also
a survivor of severe childhood chronic asthma - it strengthened my will in ways
I cannot express. Other spiritual experiences for me began early, and the belief
in the existence of magic never left childhood. Knowing that I was part Native
American (Cherokee) I found a love for Native wisdom, a love and respect for the
Earth, and it was in nature where where I found the divine. As a teenager I
began experiencing premonitions rather than visions - which always came about. I
come from a quietly religious, but very devout family. I finally found out in my
30's that the second sight runs in my mother's side of the family - the
Scottish/Welsh side. My great grandmother Nana also had the sight and used read
tea leaves - and after predicting her third death she no longer practiced.
Although I tried to go back to Christianity in college, it wasn't working for
me. I went on to meet Zanoni Silverknife, founding H.Ps. of the Georgian
Tradition , who wasn't teaching at the time, but she was my first
introduction to Craft and Paganism, and I am forever grateful to her for it. I
finally found a religion where my personal beliefs, inner truths, and gifts had
true meaning - I came home.

What I do (bio):
Rev. Alicia L. Folberth is the High Priestess and President of
the Panthean
Temple , formerly known as the Pagan Community Church, Connecticut's First
Wiccan and Pagan church, which was founded in 1995. She is the founder of its
inner court, Ceffylwen. She also runs its large festival, Beltaine a Pagan Odyssey . Rev. Alicia came to the path 23 years ago,
and has since devoted herself to Celtic traditions, and to Welsh tradition
specifically as a votary of Rhiannon. She was introduced to Odyssean
tradition eleven years ago through her dear friend and first teacher, Rowan.
Odyssean is the tradition of the Wiccan
Church of Canada . She has now resumed her studies with her two wonderful
teachers - Tamarra and Richard James, who are our Canadian elders. Odyssean is
the core tradition of the Panthean Temple. She is also a Reiki Master and
healer, with a strong interest in herbalism. As a lover of all things spiritual,
she has also pursued Afro-Carribean hand drumming under the guidance of master
drummer and Yoruba priest Baba David Coleman. Her first official published work,
"She Moves In Mysterious Ways," appears in "Cakes
and Ale for the Pagan Soul" edited by Trish Telesco. She has also
written for the Panthean Temple magazine Pantheon, the Door Opener, and was a
featured columnist for Finer Things, a local magazine. She also co-hosted a local cable access television program for several years which featured interviews with Craft Elders, Authors and Leaders. Currently, she runs Alicia's
SubRosa Magick , is a gifted reader, and has found it to be
one of her callings in helping others on the path.

Plutarch; writing on the Eleusinian Mysteries
"A person will worship something, have no doubt about that. We may think our tribute is paid in secret in the dark recesses of our hearts, but it will out. That which dominates our imaginations and our thoughts will determine our lives, and our character. Therefore, it behooves us to be careful what we worship, for what we are worshipping we are becoming."
~Ralph Waldo Emerson
"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain." ~ Paul Atreides, Dune
