gamblers or lady cowboys may also carry a miniature pistol, maybe in the hat band. Be warned.
in addition, real cowboys must be able to -
jump on a passing horse, or off a roof onto a standing one
stop a glass slid along the bar
control a runaway stagecoach, or settlers' wagon
read smoke signals
look good in chaps
at poker, always have four aces
spot rifles poking out of windows
tell fool's gold from the real thing
talk to indians in sign language
head them off at the pass
shoot through a rope, from a distance
...and remember, the real cowboy is always polite. Good manners cost nothing.
HOME OF THE BRAVE
pays tribute to the finest cinematic music the world has ever heard - the music of Morricone, Bernstein (Elmer), Moross and Steiner.
HOME OF THE BRAVE loves the music to How the West Was Won but doesn't think much of the film. Calamity Jane is much more our thing. Also Bonanza, Cheyenne, Maverick and Laramie.
"How fast can you take your time, kid?"

"Let us now apply DE to a simple test: the old Western quick draw gunfight. Only one gun fighter ever really grasped the concept of DE and that was Wyatt Earp. Nobody ever beat him. Wyatt Earp said: It's not the first shot that counts. It's the first shot that hits. Point is to draw aim and fire and deliver the slug an inch above the belt buckle.
That's DE. How fast can you do it and get it done?"
- William Burroughs, 'The Discipline of D.E.' from Exterminator!
