Raised in Beaumont Texas, Jason began songwriting at age 18 and signed his first professional writing deal just eight years later. His first break came in co-writing the hit song 'Rumor Has It', the title cut and first single from Clay Walker's fourth Platinum selling album. The song went to No. 1 on both R&R and Billboard where it spent two weeks at the top and was also Billboard's No.6 most played country song of 1997. The song achieved national acclaim and was awarded BMI's prestigious Million Air Achievement award. Since then, Jason's credits include: over 10 Clay Walker cuts on various albums including the singles 'Once in a Lifetime Love' and ‘She Likes it in the Morning’ as well as penning four songs on Chris Cagle's debut Gold album, including the title cut ‘Play It Loud’ as well as the top 40 hit single, 'Country By the Grace of God'. Jason’s other credits include Gabbie Nolen's debut single and title cut 'Almost There' which charted in the 40's on both R&R and Billboard as well as songs recorded by Perfect Stranger, Moe Bandy, The Smokin' Armadillo's, Mullins Black, Skid Row’s Johnny Solinger and many other new and up and coming artists on regional and national levels.Jason has had two songs (As Close as I Can Get & I’m Gonna Like It Here) recorded not only as a writer but also as a publisher on Florida’s pop sensation, Elisa Cariera. They have been featured on Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen's Sweet Sixteen License to Drive Playstation 2, Nintendo, and X-box games. Jason's material has also been performed on: The Nashville Morning Show (Fox Network) , Another World, The Crook & Chase Show (TNN), Prime Time Country with Gary Chapman (TNN), The Grand Ole Opry (TNN), the Christian Country Music Awards at the Ryman(CCMA's) and the Academy of Country Music Awards(ACM's). In addition to songwriting, Jason is actively involved in producing various independent projects, publishing and artist management.
