About Me

Jillian Marie.

Writer/Editor/Blogger. Aspiring Music Journalist. Wordsmith. Grammarian. Storyteller. Audiophile. Pop Culture Enthusiast. Musician. Little Sister. Opionated. Talkative. Liberal. Quirky. Sensitive. Passionate. Creative. Sentimental. Geeky. Funny. Virgo. Clumsy. Extreme worrier. Cheap. Hater of: Celine Dion, bad music, children, stupid people, Appalachia, rednecks, Greek life, North Face, ambiguity.

My dad looks like Billy Joel, and he might just be my favorite person in the world. I need to live at least 10 years of my life in New York City, at least to appreciate Woody Allen's films more than I already do. I gotta love/hate relationship with carrots - just ask. My favorite things: dance parties, scarves, cream soda, my iPod, indie rock shows, Chipotle, PIKACHU, being busy, liberals and kittens. I could never date a guy with genuinely dreadful taste in music. I heart "Super Trendy Asians." I'm glad to have found friends with whom I have something in common.

I am a sophomore at the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University. I'm the Assistant Entertainment Editor and a music blogger for Speakeasy Magazine (www.speakeasymag.com). I love interviewing rock stars, and thus far I've had the pleasure of speaking with national acts Margot & the Nuclear So and So's (twice) and John Vanderslice, among several Athens-based bands. My dream is to someday write/edit for a major music/entertainment magazine. I am ambitious beyond belief.

I didnt realize you wrote such bloody awful poetry.

No regime can buy or sell me.

We spread out and occupy the cracks in the urban streets: my Death Cab manifesto
