About Me
I met the love of my life, Barbara Lovejoy, in Las Vegas at the USO Club on Nellis AFB where we fell in love and got married in Nov 1965. We will celebrate our 42nd annversary this Nov. We also have three sons whom we are very proud of: Milus W Welch II (37), Carl L Welch (35), and Stephen A Welch (31), and three grandchildren: Carl L Welch II (14), Bettie Jean Welch (12), Stephen L Welch (1), and yes we are very proud of our grandchildren also.I was born in San Antonio TX, and raised down in the Rio Grande Valley, in McAllen TX. I was known as (BUD) to family and (MILUS) in school. I went to Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School through the 8th grade, then Lamar Junior High for the 9th grade, then McAllen High through my senior yr and graduated in 1963. Joined the United States Air Force in Aug 63. Took basic at Lackland AFB TX and advanced training at Amarillo AFB TX. From there my career went as follows:1964 - 1966 Nellis AFB NV - Las Vegas, NV, 1966 - 1966 South East Asia, 1967 - 1968 Reese AFB TX - Lubbock, TX, 1968 - 1971 Elmendorf AFB AK - Anchorage, AK, 1972 - 1972 Laredo AFB TX - Laredo, TX, 1973 - 1973 South East Asia, 1974 - 1984 Moody AFB GA - Valdosta, GA,Retired in Aug 1984 after 22 years of service to Woodstock GA where I got a job with Civil Service at the GSA warehouse and retired from GSA in Feb 2006 after 22 years of service
