About Me
I moved to Great Falls from San Francisco (where I lived for 14 years) last year. I grew up in Stokholm, Sweden - London, England and Washington DC.
I work for the Great Falls Public School District as a special ed paraprofessional. The job is as rewarding as it is exhausting. These kids just fill you with inspiration. To be sure, when I'm feeling down about my own life or what's happened to me in recent months I just look at one of them and thank my lucky stars for the blessings I do have.Working with these children has also confirmed that it's indeed a calling. I mean, common. It may not have rock star pay, but, the way the kids bum-rush me with warm hugs and eager high fives when I enter a room makes me feel like one!
I also wait tables at a local upscale restaurant to pay for summers and suppliment my income during the school year.
I've recently become a single father. I have shared joint-custody of the two most incredible boys in the world (Perry 6 and Turner 2.) Our parenting plan does have a hitch though. My ex-wife lives in Virginia where my boys will stay until next summer. Then, they will come live with me here in Montana for a year. Who ever doesn't have them gets holidays, etc. At the end of this two year plan we will go from there.
I enjoy every moment I have with my boys when they are here. To be sure, I can't wait until they move here full time (for a whole year) next July!
When the boys aren't here with me I make the most of it. I go to the gym three to six days a week, I like to go out and have a few beers shooting pool, I love a nice dinner and picnics in the park. I just discovered Showdown, here in the Little Belt Mountains. Don't get me started on skiing! Baseball. Beat L.A.! :) Go Giants! Umm, I am a hockey fan but damn, did I pick a bottom dweller for a team (the Washington Capitals... spelled with a silent 'r' most seasons.) The Redskins... yes, I like football.
Speaking sports, I also co-coach the school's track team and I've helped with the Special Olympics. I want to get more involved with the later and plan on looking into going up with the kids next winter for the Winter Games.
