It took me a while to find my true calling. I was meant to act/direct. After being inspired by the director of The Three Penny Opera, my 1st professional gig, I returned to college and earned my B.S. in Theatre. I prefer the spontaneity of the stage and really enjoy performing roles with some 'meat' on them. The works of Brecht, Mamet, Sheperd and William Missouri Downs. I would kill, well maybe not kill but severely maim, for an opportuniy to direct and play 'Mr. Glas' in "Slow Dance on the Killing Ground" by William Hanley. I try to read it at least once a week. What a character study! Live performances give me the instantaneous feed back and get the 'juices flowing.' It is therapy for me. Cathartic. I don't make a distinction between Community Theatre and any other kind of theatre. To me, theatre is theatre regardless of the venue or budget. I've wanted to be a comedian since I first saw Johnny Carson when I was a child. I hope to continue and improve with that. I'm a member of CUIP and wish I had the time & $$$ to be more active. Independent/Third Party politics is the only chance this country has as the current two parties in power are two sides of the same coin and will continue to run this country into the ground until we, you and I, get off our lazy asses and vote them out of office. Arrogant, venal, corrupt, lying, avaricious assholes who claim to have the best interests of the country at heart are ruining this country. The current administration is making ruinous decisions that will leave a legacy for generations to come to deal with. We have no business in Iraq and it will eventually turn into a Viet Nam.
