The Essex Delta, long remebered for his blues and R&B explosion in the 70's with the likes of Dr Feelgood, the Hot Rods and the Kursaal Flyers making inroads to the international arena and denting the British Charts, but criminally overlooked for its Punk Rock Culture. (Joe Stummer once said that the first time he heard the word 'Punk', was used to describe Eddie and the Hot rods in one of their reviews, they are Southend born and bred.Together now come retrospex, made up from ex-members of various legendary punk-outfits from that very same area, bands like The Psychopaths,The Convicted, The Prey, Anorexic Dread, The Shakers, The Decibels and The Three Mothers. These retrobaits are here to play classic A&B side covers from Pre-Punk to Post-Punk by such bands as The Ruts, 999, Magazine, The Clash, The Damned and also Syd Barret, Stoogies and Ziggy Stardust. Plus Cuts from Stiff and Chiswick Labels. If anyone in Southend has the right to bash out this racket its these ex-names, true its a bit rough around the edges, but thats the only way to create the true punk sound.
