About Me

It mostly started in Columbus, Ohio in 1990, as I was at THE Ohio State University studying architecture. I helped form the band Hellen Keller, a band that had classic rock and funk influences with almost a rap style vocalist. Actually we sounded alot like Rage, but we didn't know who they were at the time. After moving to Knoxville, Tn in 1994 I met Matt Woods, and sat in with his band Crushed Velvet, where we worked on writing songs more than actually playing gigs. With the birth of my son Zach in 1995 I dropped out of the scene until Fall 1998, where I ran into Matt again at a Drivin' n' Cryin' show. Shortly thereafter we formed Magpie Suite, where I played lead guitar until we went on hiatus in 2004. Matt formed his new band, Plan A, and I helped him through some early personnel issues by filling in for a few shows on lead guitar. I was also asked to sit in on the recording sessions for his second album, and I occassionally play shows with the band. I am currently working on my own project, recording at Shed 55 studios. I will have tunes up shortly from this effort, and will hopefully be setting up some more shows either with my current project or sitting in with other local musicians.

Band Website: You are on it. Thanks for looking.
Band Members: John Adam Thomas: Vocals, Guitar, and Capo Dave Dewitt: Drums Adrian Sanabria: Bass denny: Guitar
Influences: Kevn Kinney and Drivin' n' Cryin', Dave Pirner and Soul Asylum, The Crowes, The Cult, J Mascis and Dinosaur Jr., The Stooges, early Pumpkins, Hendrix, Stevie Ray, Allen Collins, Tom Petty, Fugazi, Alice In Chains, and maybe a little Pearl Jam. Maybe. I basically love a raw sound with lots of passion.
Sounds Like: Sounds like bits and pieces of alot of what you've already heard, sometimes put together like you've never heard it before. I have sometimes been accused of sounding like Rich Robinson or Mike McCready. I have also been accused of sucking. Face it, there's nothing new in music, it's all about how we take what we've learned and loved and how we make it our own.
