EMMA. Aged at two meagre years, Emma beat glorious melodies upon rainbow xylophones. LENA, however. Lena, aged six, was closer to wrinkles than diapers by the time her musical epiphany finally transpired. Centuries later, the two were to meet and to combine forces at the London Centre of Contemporary Music, but years had to be passed before this. Fair Emma spent these tinkling upon ivories galore, whilst young Lena found herself with bow-aloft, extracting beauteous wailings from violins. In their instruments of choice the two were trained classically and thoroughly; this saw LCCM finally consume both girls, ensuring that their paths did cross, and force-combination did occur. From Autumn 2007, Emma will be enjoying a year out, whilst Lena ploughs through yet more musical training at London's Goldsmiths University. Despite this divergence of paths, the two will continue to compose and perform music with one another.
