About Me
The Late Great Maestro of Music, Minister Dwayne Montgomery was born in Rhode Island. He started singing at an early age (4 years old), and was always very bold. He started singing with his brother (Sidney) and sister (Renair) as the 'Montgomery Trio'. The group was fortunate to sing on programs with the William Brothers, and other famous quartet/quintet groups. Dwayne later formed a group, 'Dwayne and Friends', and was fortunate to be on programs with Kirk Franklin, Darryl Coley, Ranch Allen, Bobby Jones, just to name a few. Dwayne was a great Musician... Being ambidextrous, he could play with both his hands and feet simultaneously! Dwayne went on to own his own record label, "DME Records", and forming his company, 'DME Enterprises'. He did alot of teaching, both one on one, as well as doing seminars and helped teach others, who are very active in the Gospel, to this day, to play the keyboards. Dwayne was easy to talk to, always counselling people on different issues of life. He was a part of the DC Public School System, where he taught young people.. Dwayne was blessed with multi talents/gifts, but very humble, realizing that they all came for the Lord..He recorded two CDs, the first entitled: "Master Jesus, You're my Evverything". On this album, he has an 'up tempo' song entitled: "I Thank You Jesus". He went on to make a REMIX of this song, for Aerobics Workouts. He was blessed to tour and sing the Gospel in other countries such as Germany, Paris France and other parts of Europe, as well as in the States. Kirk Franklin once told Dwayne that he reminded him so much of the 'Late Great Thomas Whitfield' of Detroit Michigan, who was Dwayne's idol! You can hear similaritlies of his voice in his solo songs: 'Worship" and "Lord You're Worthy". Dwayne could hold a note for a long time, as well as accompany himself on keyboards. He loved the Lord and Loved the BiBle. He has two songs from his favorite Scriptures in Psalms, on is album, taken from Psalm 91 and 92. Later, he went on to write and record a song for weddings, Entitled "Holy Martimony". He died suddenly at the early age of 40, without completing his second album. Gone too soon, but not forgotten, his memory and legacy will live on.
