NEED HELP TO REVISE MY PROFILE...
MARY L. HINES....Photographer.. ..(more a Photo-Artist).., Artist, And Owner:
My photos have been called everything from Phenomenal, Amazing, to Supernatural. I try to capture the heart and soul of the Performer..(s).., and give the viewer a taste of actually being at the show. The photos show Movement, Excitement, Atmosphere, and the Full Experience of your performance. .. In short, you put on a dazzling performance, and I’ll give you astounding photos for your MySpace and Website!.. My main goal it to show a performer or band at their very best, as well as to take the photos that the fans themselves want to see.
Originally, I had taken photos back in the early 80's, but the expense of film, and other factors cause me to give up that dream. However, I picked up my camera again in 2000, yet it wasn't till I started going to see local bands and performers that I started to notice that I still had an eye for remarkable photos. Just capturing a well framed, sharp, photos with a flash wasn't for me. I wanted to show the spectacular lighting and darkness of the clubs, and arenas. You can't do that with a white flash of light... Sometimes like to try to tell a story with my photos... Showing an emotional roller-coaster of the entire show. Including the audience, and if I'm working with a band that includes the audience, reaching out to them, crowd walking...all the better!.. I say, "working with" even though I don't want any to play for my camera, but to the audience, I do consider that I'm working with the performer or band. For it's the enthusiasm of the performers that make my photos brilliant. If they are not enjoying their performance, if they are not making the show exciting for the live audience, my photos become dull, monotonous. It may be hard to catch the artist that uses the entire stage, running back and forth. Nevertheless, I do, and the photos are exciting.
The Artist..... Besides creating Dreamcatchers and Mandalas, I'm planning on taking some of the more artistic photos and framing them. I already notice several series that I could produce. Eventually I would like to put out a few photo books of the bands I have taken photos of. Such as a book of local bands, from the yet to be known, to the famous... The Mandalas I make are like Dreamcatchers with leather shields in the center. Normally they would just be rabbit fur with a few beads, or leather with a painted design. Here in the US, they would have Native American symbols. However, I would take a photo I like of an actor, as the character they portrayed in a movie, TV show...whatever, and transfer it to the leather. Now that I'm am taking photos, myself, I will only be creating them using photos I took myself.
