***There will be more music and more projects soon***
This page is for me to show other projects I do outside of LOR and is all about my drumming and any other musical projects I find myself in.
I started playing music when I was about 12. I got a guitar for my birthday and took a lesson or two then broke my wrist skating. I would pick it up now and then and mess around and try to figure out songs on the radio, after I found I wasn't able to just play I kind of grew tired of it and started playing less and less. About this time I was finding music other than what my parents listened to. The top 40 pop bands my mom listened to I never much cared for and the classic rock and blues my dad listened to I enjoyed but lacked the energy a growing 13 year old boy needed. I started scanning the radios for more things to keep me entertained in my small little town and even smaller little room. I found "alternative" and "grunge." Ah.. the energy and rebellion I was looking for. Bands like Pearl Jam and Nirvana flooded my room with dark and yet still energetic music. Well about this time my dad decided it was time to start playing drums again after getting bored with guitar and keyboards. So one day the family goes to look at a drum set some unlucky man was selling to pay off a law suit for his lackluster driving. A double bass Ludwig kit soon after sat in what was my brothers room turned in to "The Music Room." Well it didn't take me long after my dad walked away from the set to jump on and start beating away at these pretty blue drums. To my dads shock he noticed I was able to follow along to some of the more simple songs he had playing through the CD player. While watching TV one day I saw the ever famous "Smells Like Teen Spirit" video and fell in love with the energy given off by Dave's playing. The skinny long haired drummer looked like the older kids in town who went to (or at least hung around) the high school. Not too long after this my dad got orders we would be moving to Virginia Beach. So on we went. The house we had found was perfect. 3 rooms and off one of the rooms was another smaller room. This would serve just fine as "The NEW Music Room." I didn't have to look far for band mates to start my 1st band with. Next door was a young man about my age we called Bub. I let Bub use my guitar and amp for the time being so we could start playing. He played the sax in school so he knew a little about music. My younger brother would serve as bass player, then singer when he later found he really had no musical talent. These 2 would be in bands with me untill my adulthood. Bands came and went as did times of not playing. After meeting Bo and Clarence and starting Loss Of Reason I decided music is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. So here I am in my mid twenties still playing and looking for other projects to fill my time and other musicians to make music with.
This the last song of the set, and before we had even recorded it for "The Nightmare Ages" CD.
One of our first shows back.
This is an interview we did.
