Voyage Musique follows C4 presenter Nick Dwyer on an entertaining, globe-trotting journey of musical discovery, as he exchanges the sounds of New Zealand for the sounds of the world. In each episode, Nick (who has been involved with radio and music television for 14 years), meets up with kiwis, musicians & recording artists across the globe to get an insight into their local music scene. Not one to just chat, Nick also gets involved in each country’s musical culture first hand, showcasing our biggest musical talents to the world along the way.Wether it’s getting The Datsuns airplay on Lebanese radio, leading a 50 strong Bollywood dance troupe for a choreographed version of The Mint Chick’s ‘Crazy Yes, Dumb No’, belting out a rendition of Slice Of Heaven at a Brazilian football match, or mixing the latest in Kiwi Vinyl with a local DJ at South Africa’s Park Jam, Nick will be giving the world a taste of kiwi music like they’ve never seen before.World music has had a huge influence on the sounds of New Zealand. Our aim is to find out what kind of impression New Zealand music can have on the world. As Nick journeys to the musical heart of each country, he meets all manner and generation of musicians, producers and vocalists who talk passionately about their musical climate. The climax of each show will be the performance of a notable kiwi track, reinterpretated in a whole new light but some of the world's most unique and coulouful musicicans.Equal parts entertaining romp and documentary, Voyage Musique proves once again that music that makes the world go round.

Influences: To showcase New Zealand music in an original and entertaining way.To take our audiences deep into the heart and culture of countries rarely seen on our screens, and help viewers gain a greater understanding of all aspects of these nations’ music and what makes them so unique.Specifically inform viewers about countries which are relevant to modern New Zealand minority communities, for example India and China.Understand how the sounds of the world have influenced the sounds of NZ.By the end of the series, to have a piece of music that was started in NZ and finished across the world, a track that sonically represents the journey that we have just made.
