ShadowFax

About Me

Shadowfax was formed late in 2006 by like-minded musicians who were determined to work in the music industry. The Band was founded in Templemore in Tipperary. The band plays a mix of Progressive Metal and Alternative Rock, taking influence from bands such as Metallica, Opeth, Deftones.
The current line-up includes three members;
Mick Lee – Guitar, Lead Vocals
Liam O’Connor – Bass, Backing Vocals
Scott Blake – Percussion
The band formed from the ashes of a previous band “Doves Of Fire” which if nothing else had quite possibly the worst band name ever invented. Mick, and Liam continued .. the band fell apart along with guitarist Robin Falvey. Robin later left to move to Scotland but with the addition of Scott Blake on drums the band was ready to begin playing gigs.
In mid 2007 the band began playing gigs nationwide playing to large audiences from one end of the country to the other. The first gigs being close to the bands hometown of Templemore but then stretching outward from Kerry to Dublin and everywhere in between.
Shadowfax aims to play large venues such as clubs or metal pubs that are interested in a mix of Thrash, Progressive Metal, and Progressive rock. At such gigs Shadowfax focuses on original material such as the acclaimed signature track “Why You Lie”, as well as some covers that compliment the original material such as Katatonia, Metallica, Paradise Lost.
Shadowfax intends to play constantly at any opportunity they get. They are a hard working self-sufficient band, constantly in communication with venues setting up future gigs.
An E.P. consisting of all original Shadowfax material is has been recorded and will be available for purchase at our gigs and on the Internet.
