Hi!My name is Amy Cheek.I have always loved to sing but it was mainly a passion that I shared with my car radio and my shower curtain. A few years ago I bought a guitar and taught myself to play. As I learned to play I also began to write. Though I knew nothing about music theory, I put chords together that sounded good and natural to me. The melody lines came easily once I had a chord progression. I invested in an 8 track digital recorder as I longed to get my music down and work on parts. Once again I knew as much about recording as I did music theory~Ziltch. With the little knowledge I had I began to take my melodies and turn them into songs. I loved the layering afforded to me with my multitrack recorder and continued to grow as a songwriter. The song "demos" that you hear on my site were recorded in my basement with my 8 track. I have since taken classes in recording technology and learned everything I know from my instructor Ben Blau. He taught me so much more than the classes offered and got me started on my career doing jingle and voice over work. I have worked in the studio with Ben~ Ben's Studio
recording a jingle that I wrote for Busch's Food Stores. I also recorded"You Know My Name" a song written for Nurses. I plan to continue writing and promoting my music, my hope is that I can continue to love what I do and have it be a source of income that supports my growth as an artist.
