About Me

Find new MySpace layouts at pYzam .

I am an artist working in illustration, cartooning and portraiture. If you would like to talk about commissioning a piece of artwork, then hurry over to my website at

www.charlotteeerie.com

I am also in a band called The Merch Grrls, our page is in my top friends, please visit it and add us! We are currently writing and recording some demos which will be on there soon, and then we will be booking some tour dates in NY, NJ, IL, MA and CA.
My home town is a place near Brighton, England. My Mom and my brother, who is an opera singer (Edward Stroud - check out his myspace music page), still live there. My Dad died when I was sixteen. I have lived in cities all over the country, because I have a really restless spirit, but in New York, I have finally found a place where I really want to be. Although I have mainly worked in portraiture, I used to write a couple of web comics, the best known one being 'Desdemona'. The comics are not available online right now because I am reworking them for publication, but it's a slow process because the band is taking up a lot of my time! In 27 years I have seen many things, good and bad. I've met amazing and inspiring people. I've seen wonders of nature. I've lived a lot, laughed a lot, cried a lot and loved a lot. I've seen my life flash before my eyes twice. I truly believe that if you haven't found something worth dying for, then your life is not worth living, and also that if you can dream it, you can do it.
Some random things I like are: Rock n' roll, living in New York City, turrential rain, travelling, reading, records on vinyl, ridiculous shoes, singing, honesty, vegetarianism, movies, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, cats, photographs, astrology, drawing Desdemona, tarot cards, coffee, airports, playing bass guitar, staying up late, sleeping in, laughing 'til your face hurts, good friends, big dreams.
Some bands I like include: MCR, Iron Maiden, Aerosmith, Green Day, Placebo, D Generation, Plain White Ts, Pulp, The Replacements, Ocean Colour Scene, Aiden, Guns N Roses, Cheap Trick, Counting Crows, Nirvana, The Beatles, Suzi Quatro, Elton John, No Doubt, Alice Cooper, The Drew Blood, The Clash, Elvis Costello, The Orion Experience, Billy Joel, The Bluetones, The Flaming Lips, Damien Rice, The Hold Steady, Blondie, Tom Petty, Van Morrison, Bon Jovi, Meat Loaf, God Or Julie, Evanescence, Bright Eyes, Queen, David Bowie, The Ramones and many, many more...
Some movies I like are: Withnail and I, Requiem for a Dream, Garden State, Pulp Fiction, Metropolis, The Cabinet of Dr Caligari, Bonnie and Clyde, Taxi Driver, The Italian Job (Original Version), East Riders, The Breakfast Club, Batman Begins, Corpse Bride, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Empire Records, Pirates of the Carribean, The Sixth Sense, The Others, Labyrinth, Ghost, Wayne's World, Dracula, Romeo and Juliet, Clerks, Edward Scissorhands. I also own an extensive collection of 1980s animation on dvd, including He-Man and She-Ra, Thundercats, Transformers and Defenders of the Earth. In the age of Ebay, nostalgia comes highly recommended.
Books I like are: Morality Play by Barry Unsworth, The Portrait of Dorian Gray, The Time Machine by H.G.Wells, 1984 and Animal Farm by George Orwell, Complete Works of Edgar Allan Poe, The Catcher in the Rye, Wuthering Heights, Harry Potter, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, Pride and Prejudice, Lyra's Oxford. I also read alternative comics (the gothy ones like Lenore, JTHM and Squee). I don't read superhero comics. If you are a fan of superhero comics, that's great, but please do not try to engage me in a conversation about the relative merits of the X-men over the Justice League etc, because I won't know what you're talking about!
If you want to ask me a question, then just send me a message instead of viewing my page anonymously five times a day. Chances are I'll reply to you (*I reserve the right not to reply if your question is just plain weird!). I will not accept invitations to AIM/IM. Actually, I'm not even sure what that is...
Have a nice day. I truly mean that.
A beautiful portrait of beautiful Gerard Way. I will get a better copy up when I can afford a new scanner! Enjoy x
