Lauris Reiniks

Lauris Reiniks , born in Dobele, Latvia, is award-winning Latvian pop music singer, songwriter, TV host and actor. He has recorded 5 solo albums. One of them “ Lidot Savadak” has certified Gold in Latvia. Many of Lauris’s songs have become hits in Latvia. Such as “Es Neesmu Nepratigs”, “Tev sodien vienalga”, “Tik Balti”, “Es Tev Apmulsis”, as well as legendary “Sirds Sadeg Neparasti” that received all major music awards in Latvia in 2002 and was recognized a song of a year.
A song “Tell Me” performed in a duet with a Eurovision Song Contest 2002 winner Marie N (Marija Naumova) has received a prestigious award of Latvian Copyrights Agency AKKA/LAA as the most played song on radio and television in 2003.
In 2003 along with Martins Freimanis and Yana Kay a trio F.L.Y. has been created specially for Eurovision Song Contest Latvian selection. With a song “ Hello From Mars” they won the National preliminaries and represented Latvia in ESC 2003.
Lauris Reiniks has successfully entered also into acting. In 2004/2005 he played Rolf in the famous musical The Sound Of Music , but in 2005 he played Olympus in a musical “ Autoplanet”. Lauris has also done several National TV commercials and print ads. He has been a voice of Coca- Cola commercial in Latvia.
In 2005 The British popmusic magazine “Top Of The Pops” awarded Lauris with a title of “Latvian National Megastar 2004” .
In 2005 Lauris represents Latvia in European Union Roadshow in Slovakia giving concerts in all major cities in Slovakia. But a song “And You Came” in a duet with Estonian singer Maarja (Maarja-Liis Ilus) becomes a hit both in Latvia and Estonia and reaches radio stations in other countries. Ever since 1998 Lauris Reiniks has also been famous for hosting several TV shows for Latvian Television LTV and now for the biggest and most popular commercial station- TV3 Latvia.
On April 8,2007 live on TV3 Latvia (Viasat) Lauris Reiniks becomes the first season winner of the Latvian "Dancing with the Stars" (Dejo ar Zvaigzni) on TV3 Latvia. He was partnered by his professional partner- many time champion Aleksandra Kurusova.

In May, 2007 Lauris Reiniks starts working on a new motion picture for the "Kaupo" film studio, “Dancis pa trim” (“Three to Dance”). He is playing Edvards, a Latvian soldier during the latter stages of World War II. The movie is scheduled for release in 2009.
May 16, 2007 -The new Lauris Reiniks album, “Nakts Veikala”, is released.
Autumn, 2007 Lauris Reiniks is a host of the hit show "Sing with the Star" on TV3 Latvia.
November 12, 2007 Lauris gets the prestigious "Eternity Prize 2007" awarded by Latvian Copyrights Agency AKKA/LAA for his song “Sirds Sadeg Neparasti”- the most played song on public and commercial radio and TV stations.
The first half of 2008 Lauris Reiniks spends living in Los Angeles, CA and studying acting.
September 2008- Lauris Reiniks releases a duet song "Es Esmu Tev Dzislas" with his sister Ruta. "Es esmu tev dzīslās" was 1 for 7 consecutive weeks on the Latvian Airplay Chart in 2008. The song has also an english version called "You Know The Reason" performed only by Lauris and co-written with Gordon Pogoda.
October 5, 2008 - Lauris Reiniks starts hosting a new reality series on TV3 Latvia called "Koru Kari" (Clash of the Choirs).
February 20, 2009 - Lauris Reiniks's song "I Wish I Could Pretend" performed by Kristina Zaharova gets the 2nd place in Irish Eurosong 2009 selection live on RTE "Late Late Show Eurosong 2009 Special"!
March 2009 - Lauris Reiniks starts hosting the 2nd season of a reality TV series "Latvijas Zelta Talanti" (Latvia's Got Talent) on LNT.
May 2009 - Lauris Reiniks starts playing one of the leading roles in the world famous "Ladies' Night" play (Kailie Brieži) produced by Domino Teatras and staged at Dailes Theater in Riga. In the new fall season the show is relocated to a National Theater of Latvia.
September 2009 - Lauris Reiniks starts hosting a new reality series on LNT Television called "Latvijas Dziedošās ģimenes" (Singing Families of Latvia) that from the very first episode reaches a top of ratings and becomes the most popular TV show in Latvia.
