For those who do not already know I got married October 2, 2008. My name is Akia Calhoun-Straite and currently I am just doing what God called me to. I was recently ordained as a minister in July 2007, which was extremely exciting. My life goal, dream and purpose is to be all that God has called me to be. I am a true believe that we all have to go through the fire to come out gold and hopefully I am getting there. I believe that I can't stop growing and can only keep improving upon who I am. Trials are meant for me to grow through not go through. I am proud of who I am and what I have accomplished but i won't forget who I was because it keeps me humble and helps me remember that if not for the grace and mercy God has given to me where would I be. I am thankful for my church Restored Life Church where I have spiritual grown the most. I can truly say I love everyone there like family. I am thankful for Tara and Irshe because good Christian women are hard to find and thankful God blessed me with friends who will encourage me and tell the truth about me because they say it out of love and wanting me to grow. I am thankful for a Pastor/Mom who sees who God called me to be and not as the child who gave her most of her gray hair. Thankful for two brilliant beautiful sisters and a father who does his best to be what a father should be.
