HateDrama.comI would like to introduce you all to three extraordinary women in my life. These women are heroes to me and to so many who know them. My mother, Joyce, Aunt Sue, and cousin Erica. All three have a form of cancer and have BEATEN THE ODDS!My mother, Joyce has a form of skin cancer called Basal Cell Carcinoma. It is the most common type of skin cancer and on an average, a million people a year will be diagnosed with this form of skin cancer. My mom has had numerous surgeries removing the growths/tumors that arise in the layers of the skin. She continues to get regular check ups and surgeries and I couldn't be more proud of her for staying on top of things and taking care of the skin cancer when it bears its ugly face. Her most recent surgery was July 3, 2008. She had to have two more tumors removed and with that, eight stitches. I would have done anything to have been there for her and take care of her. My heart was there and always will be! I love you mom! You are my inspiration! My Aunt Sue was diagnosed with a type of cancer called Hodgkins Disease. Cancer of the Lymph Nodes. She practically lived at West Michigan Cancer Center for months and months going through hell with Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy. She lost her hair, spent many extremely sick days and nights after Chemo, and still never complained about her life. She is all clear of cancer as of right now and I pray that it stays that way! I love you Aunt Sue! You are such a strong woman and an inspiration to me!!My cousin Erica at the mere age of 19 was diagnosed with a type of cancer called Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. Most symptoms are swelling of the Lymph Glands. It started with a tumor in her throat and when they went in to operate, they realized the tumor was triple the size they first anticipated it to be. But she did exactly what her doctor told her to and for 8 months straight she was either getting Chemotherapy or Radiotherapy between West Michigan Cancer Center and the hospital and now she is in remission, cancer free! She always kept her faith that she would get better and she did! She is a beautiful woman with so much heart and soul and she is truly an inspiration to me! I love you girl!
