During a tour of Australia - after drinkin' one too many mojitos, the "EXTRA CHEE$E" name was thrown around and the concept was set in place...To get muthafuckaz out their seats and party to as many genres as possible including classics and slept on tracks from the 70s, 80s, 90s. It's safe to expect disco, funk, new jack swing, soul, rap, miami bass, gangsta rap, and a variety of genres and vibes to keep you captivated!
J-Zone isn't a new name to listeners of hip-hop. With 9 solo releases on his Old Maid Ent. label, he has collaborated with a who's who of the hip-hop world. Since 1999, folks have recognized Zone for his beats, raps, crazy stage shows, and off-the-wall humor. Now it's time to witness his track selection and DJ skills! His out of print Ign'ant Mix CD series from 2003-04 are now in high demand and his new monthly Gator$-N-Fur$ mix show are garnering buzz and critical acclaim via his podcast as well as on various sites and blogs.
DJ Sheep is a 3-time Australian State DMC Champion and is respected worldwide in the record diggin' community. He's supplied dusty gems to hip-hop's top track stars and was the resident DJ at the world famous night club Ministry Of Sound in Taiwan. DJ Sheep has rocked clubs in Moscow, Vietnam, Australia, Tokyo and throughout Europe.
Individually, they have rocked the DJ booths both for and with names like DJ Premier, Prince Paul, Rob Swift, MC Serch, Greg Nice, Supernatural, Q-Bert, Big Daddy Kane, The RZA, Jazzy Jay, A-Trak, DJ Craze, Jazzy Jeff, DJ Revolution and many more.
In October, November, and December of 2007, the duo hit the road for the first time to lay the foundation for Extra Chee$e , performing to enthusiastic crowds across the US, UK, and Europe.The crew will reunite mid-2009 with a brand new show on 4 turntables, complete with new crowd interactive skits - thus marking their second tour of Europe. They have their sights set on Asia, Australia, the USA and Canada by the years end...
As a DJ team, don't expect any live renditions of "5-Star Hooptie" in a torn up mink coat, dj trick sets, or any other of their individual accolades played out as a group. This duo is just about serving up the best of the unpredictable with the well-known to keep the party rockin... And don't stare at them like its an exhibit - it's a party!
