The name of the band was taken from a tale writen by Luciano Andrade (guitars and vocals), This work has the same name and wasn´t published yet. The word Haeresis was taken from the latin, but the letter "a" was removed for a better aproach of the portuguese spelling.
The Death Metal Band Heresis was born in Lavras/MG/Brazil and was in 2003 moved from Lavras to São João del Rei. Except for Luciano Andrade, all the other members live in SJDR.
Since that the band began to play around in the underground scene and be known in the area.
Symbol history
The band´s symbol, named Insígnia Cética has in the lines of its design, the union of the christian, islamic, jewish fundamentalism, fragmented or inverted.
Insígnia Cética is based in religious symbols because religion is a strong aspect in any society, being holder of many elements such as history, art, behavior, politics, philosophy, spirituality, and of course also ethical and moral values, as you can see, religion is one of the necessary mechanisms used to aggregate a society.
Heresis doesn't express therefore any religious link, being its lyrics void of any practice, apology, or propagation of pagan and fundamentalist religions, as much as sects or orders of any nature.
Although the band uses religion symbols, it's not against any religion, the boarding such as the extreme sounding (Death Metal), questions values or extreme attitudes, religious or not.
Observation: The symbol "Insígnia Cética" is owed and created by Luciano Andrade, used for symbolize the band Heresis and all skeptical thoughts.
