About Me

Originally from El Paso, TX, Rosana Eckert has gained wide recognition as a dynamic jazz singer, composer, arranger, and educator. Her first solo CD, At the End of the Day, was praised as “an occasion for celebration” (AllAboutJazz.Com) and “a superior debut” (Cadence Magazine) and was a finalist for Best Jazz Album in the 2006 Independent Music Awards. She has had the pleasure of performing with such jazz greats as Kenny Wheeler, Marvin Stamm, George Duke, and Jon Faddis, and her quintet performs regularly at concert venues and jazz festivals around the country. She is also in demand as an ensemble clinician and festival adjudicator, and her vocal arrangements have been performed by groups worldwide. In 1999, Rosana toured with the IAJE “Sisters in Jazz” Collegiate Sextet, and she can be seen on the BET Jazz Channel as the female vocalist at the 2000 Thelonious Monk Aspen Jazz Colony, where she was mentored by many world renowned jazz artists including Christian McBride, Joshua Redman, John Clayton, Russell Malone, and Dianne Reeves.Rosana currently lives in Dallas and teaches vocal jazz at the University of North Texas. In addition to her teaching and live performing, Rosana works regularly as a studio singer in the Dallas area. She has sung back-up vocals for various recording artists and can be heard on hundreds of jingles and radio IDs around the world.
