Some of you may know 14KT as 1/7th of Michigan's own elite Hiphop group ATHLETIC MIC LEAGUE. As 14KT bloomed as an artist submerged in the culture of Hiphop, in a time where the expression of individual freedom was promoted (the Hiphop golden years 92-95), he soon realized that a person cannot be only seen in one light. Being exposed to Jazz music by his mother, Hiphop by his sister, Gospel from singing in the church choir (which he currently does today at Second Baptist Church of Ann Arbor, Michigan), old soul, R&B, and even psych rock music, 14KT feels that Hiphop is a big part of him, but definitely not the only part.
Now, not only is 14KT an emcee representing the Mighty Athletic Mic League, he also serves as CliffNoteS, 1/4 of one of Michigan's most talented beat production teams, THE LAB TECHS. Check out the originator of the GEE WHIZ Beatmaker Challenge! 14KT has rubbed elbows with some dope cats...just recently Slum Village and Phat Kat. Check out his pics and blog Europe was DOPE!!! .
K has what I call an "interesting" sound. It doesn't fit into a category...It's just music! How do you know a song touches your soul? You want to hear it over and over again. The songs currently in his player Pretty Baby, A Garden of Peace, Much Better, and Gee Whiz are testaments to how music soothes the soul.
