I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Hi! I'm a singer from Long Island. I mostly play in cover bands but am beginning to write originals again (in an effort to regain my soul and because high priced call girls who think they're musicians and have 200,000 myspace downloads piss me off). I'm a creative person, an idea person, a dreamer who's always full of hope. My day gig is in sports marketing for a major cable programmer. It's cool, not my dream, but a great job. I'm a big fan of keeping in shape and trying new things. I like spending my time hanging out with my best friends, many of whom are musicians. So, going out usually means gigging or seeing friends' gig. Either way, always a good time! Also, I LOOOOVE my Pup! She's the best girl in the whole-wide world. She's a long-haired dachshund named Chrissy (aka, "gootbooty"). She's pure love.On the deeper side...I think I'm a really good person who is seeking happiness, some meaning in this life, a bit of fun, some awesome surprises along the way, and more recently...a soul mate.As to what more specifically defines me, I guess, music, friends, hope and desire, and often, to my detriment, compassion and loyalty...oh and apparently, a killer rack. :p

My Interests

Music, Yoga, Weight Training, Krav Maga, Kickboxing, Beach/Boating, Animal-Lover, Interior Design, love watching pay-per-view Boxing, Classic Mustangs, New Audis, love local carnivals on warm nights, strolling boardwalks, outdoor cafes/restaurants, COFFEE and CAKE are my worst vices (i'm so bad, i know), and I'm a salad snob; iceburg lettuce can suck it! I write to express myself, songs, poems, letters that never get mailed, etc. I'm a spiritual person and find world religions fascinating; interested in any and all History Channel/A&E specials such as "Mysteries of the Bible".

I'd like to meet:

Jesus, the man of my dreams who adores me, the band of my dreams who rock the universe, Nuno Bettencourt, Chris Cornell, Jon Bon Jovi, the Dalai Lama, Brandon Boyd, Fran Drescher, Mr. Scheffield (with the grey streak), Elliot Stabler, Madonna, Tyler Durden, and Tom Wellings...i think in that order (except Tom Wellings, who is definitely much higher on the list if this were in reality)...Get your layout at zSIFT.com

Music:

Some Staple Favorites: Pretty much anything by Chris Cornell or Nuno Bettencourt, Ani DiFranco, Tori Amos, Incubus, Finger Eleven, Ours, really dig My Chemical Romance alot too, and recently getting into 30 Seconds to Mars and Paramore. I like anything really heavy that has a sick groove. Basically, anything written with some musical intelligence. I love music that evokes emotion, in whatever form. I LOVE Harmonies and really interesting vocals. I'm a die-hard Extreme fan, guess I always will be. And, I'm occassionally guilty of liking a random pop diva or emo band, but more on a "hit single" basis, since I am usually learning one of their songs for my cover band.

Movies:

Haven't seen ANYTHING lately, but movies that I'll watch everytime they are on: 2 Weeks Notice, Girl Interrupted, 28 days, Overboard, You've Got Mail, The Matrix, Fight Club ("I am Jack's broken heart. . ."), Harold & Maude, Midnight Run. Would probably enjoy going to more indie films, and like to see the Blockbusters on the big screen as opposed to renting.

Television:

SMALLVILLE!!!!!!! Mandatory Appointment Viewing for me! Work Out is back on, so i'm all over it for skinny inspiration! Love Reba, it's my come home from work and eat dinner ritual. Top Chef this season isn't exciting me, and those damn "Housebitches" of NYC are wack, bring back the Orange County sluts. I love the Law and Order franchises, particularly SVU. Enjoy Grey's Anatomy, Project Runway and the Bachelor, cause the girls are pathetic and it's funny (although would thoroughly find being the next Bachelorette a total pisser, I'm sure). Lastly, will watch almost any home decorating shows and history channels topics, especially stuff on Egypt (i dunno why).

Books:

Just finished reading "I hope they serve beer in Hell", by Tucker Max, which was frickin' hysterical and I recommend it for the need to be mindless and think about your own retarded friends and laugh. Now, I'm trying to go back to finish "On the Road" finally. Other books that i've loved, To Kill A Mockingbird, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, The Red Tent, Running with Scissors, Exit to Eden, Bridget Jones' Diary (1 & 2).

Heroes:

My mom...she was a tough lady and has tought me to be a champion in adversity, believe in God even when it seems like he's not there, to never settle for an apple when you could have an orchard, and to give to those in need, whether that means the shirt off your back or taking the time out to help others. Also, she had a natural ability for making men chase after her and that's kinda cool. (tee, hee!)

Setting things in Motion...

It's interesting...I think i've always understood this, but experiencing it is truly amazing.  Sometimes the "Universe" requires that you make the first move.  A person can struggle over de...

Cleaning up shit...

Seems it's all I do.  My dog is 11 ½ and is basically trained.  Yet, she still manages to create a mess that will undoubtedly cost a considerable portion of any security deposit.  ...

Thoughts for a New Year...

My first attempt at adding a blog and it's not even something I wrote...not very original of me, I agree...however, a fellow myspace friend sent this along...not sure if she wrote it or not (although ...
