About Me

Even as a little girl, I had a great affection for all things photographic. I would steal my mother's light meter and sneak away with her cameras. But, instead of chastising me, she encouraged my curiosity and allowed me to experiment with all of her equipment. It was almost 20 years before I would dive into photography on my own, however. On a deployment with the Air Force in Afghanistan in 2005, my camera was my way to connect with local people. I use my camera as an "in" in unfamiliar situations and with people who would ordinarily be out of reach. I intend to pursue graduate work in anthropology in order to continue my study of culture through photography.
