The Skardvarks

About Me

The Skardvarks were originally formed during the Summer of '07 as a comic response to the much-respected ska-punk band The SkArmadillos. We are a duo who use a range of electronic and acoustic instruments in our music... in other words a bit of the old fruity loops, guitar and brass, with the odd surprise thrown in every now and again. Since our first recording, "Take 1", we have achieved international fame and fortune, releasing numerous chart-toppers and have even found time to record alongside critically-acclaimed artists such as Streetlight Manifesto and Elvis Presley. After a dry-spell of recording, we are back this Summer '08 with an EP of greater performance genius and production know-how than ever before. This EP consists of a cover of the Cascada classic "Miracle", as well as much more, and will be on sale very shortly. We will notify you all as soon as it hits the shelves in a record shop near you.If you would like to pre-order a copy of our new EP, please write a message on our wall on either facespace or myface and we will get back to you with confirmation of your order. [the experimental classic "U Get me" will feature as a bonus track on the EP].Cheers.

Band Members: [CURRENT MEMBERS]------|Tom "Buffness" Rudd| - trumpet, didgeridoo, acoustic and electric guitars, vocals.------ |Alex "Ginger Aled" Smith| - trombone, tin whistle, fruity loops, vocals.------ [FORMER MEMBERS:]------|"Pete"| - Drums. Sadly Pete has has some recent trouble with a gang of boy dems and has had to lay low for a while. His whereabouts are currently unknown. Therefore, we have had to create our own beats via fruity loops for our 2008 recordings featured on the new EP.------
Influences: Ska, rock and popular music.
Sounds Like: Imagine a sick mash-up of brass-heavy ska, clean off-beat guitar fused with distorted rock guitar, off-beat ska drums with heavy rock drums with a bit of hip hop/rnb flavours thrown in. Also not to forget the odd bit of world music added to the mix. The other day someone mentioned to us "musical genres"... we looked at him blanky and handed him a copy of our new EP.
