Spoken Views was created by Iain "Emic" Watson & Tony "Talik" Walker in the late part of 2006. Our vision was to create an alternative "scene" of Spoken Word Poets, Writers, Artists & Musicians & bring awareness & diversity to Reno's forever growing art scene. We started with a few Spoken Word shows at Se7en & Beach Hut Deli & eventually started a monthly open mic at Se7en & the response has been amazing. The open mics have brought a crowd & participating group of readers from all walks of life, young & old. Spoken Views has joined forced with Holland Project & are planning to expand beyond Reno as well as offer workshops & mentorship for todays youth. We simply want to reach out to all types of people who express themseleves & open up more fields in which they can hone & pefect their craft.
