What to tell... Well I see myself as a pretty simple person. I love my family, they are my best friends. I also love my job. I am an animal keeper at a nonprofit big cat rescue facility. I get to look after tigers, leopards, ocelots, servals, caracals, binturongs, and kinkajous. This means I get to work with other people that are passionate about the same things I am, and that's great. I've been passionate about animals all my life, and got to study zoology at NC State University. I'm naturally very inverted, but practice being outgoing from time to time. I joined the National Guard when I was a sophomore in college, I suppose for the challenge. I hoped that I might get a chance to do something good with that. In 2003, we got shipped over to Iraq for the first year of the war. It's a scary place, and doesn't seem to have improved since then, only worse from what I hear. Anyway, that's a looooong story, I'll save you the time. The best thing that happened to me throughout that process was finding my husband there. We were in the same unit, and worked closely together. You really find out what someone is made of in a situation like that, and he's such a great person. He's my best friend, and I'm so thankful to have found him. We live out in the country with our 5 cats, our dog Ranger, and a couple of chickens that are nice enough to lay their eggs beside the front steps. Well enough about me, it's simple; but a dream come true for me.
