Hellfire Marketing was created to help sell records. We work directly with the best mom and pop record stores in the U.S. Through personalized calls to each store, POP, a nation wide street team and a website with band information and downloads (when possible) Hellfire Marketing creates incentives to help sell more albums.
Hellfire Marketing was formed by Jennifer and Scott Booker in 2001. The first project Hellfire Marketing worked on was the Sigur Ros album Agaetis Byrjun for PIAS America. More recently weve been working on the Wedding Crashers soundtrack, Aesop Rock, Langhorn Slim, The Cribs and many others. Scott Booker worked at Sound Warehouse and then later the mom and pop store Rainbow Records where he met the Flaming Lips. Eventually he began Hellfire Management and worked with such bands as the Flaming Lips, Elliott Smith, Wheat, the Starlight Mints, Red Red Meat, Hum and others. The Hellfire team has expanded since those days. Derek Brown has been with the company since 2001 in charge of the street team, label management, and more. Jill Mellgren is the Production Manager for the labels, as well as many other things. Wes Sayles builds relationships with the retailers, among various other things as well.
Our goal at Hellfire Marketing is to help artists who have an artistic vision and quality that we admire.
Most importantly, Hellfire Marketing listens to the needs of retailers and helps record labels to determine the best way to meet their needs in a timely, cost effective way. We know that this is a business of levels and artists need that street-level of retailers supporting the project to make it more likely that a campaign can begin to succeed at college radio, local press and touring.
